Cotton Export Sales

Demand for US cotton for export continues to slow amid higher futures prices and harvest progress. Total net export sales for the week ending Sept 22 were just below 113M bales while shipments were just under 161K bales. Both figures were well off the weekly pace required to meet the USDA’s 11.5M bales export target, although this was the first week within the new marketing year in which sales failed to exceed the weekly pace requirement.
